Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD) is a mental disorder that is characterized by a pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others such that their motives are interpreted as malevolent. Some of the prominent personality traits of someone with PPD include suspiciousness, hostility, intimacy avoidance, and "unusual" beliefs. People with PPD tend to be hyper-vigilant, touchy, cynical, cold, grudge-holding, moralistic, self-righteous, and hateful.
It is NOT characterized by delusions or hallucinations.
I have Paranoid Personality Disorder. Since this is a blog centered around PPD, I don't plan on holding back my hostility and cynicism like I usually do. I'll be letting my PPD speak (more often than usual at least). I may come off as a jerk here. Just a warning. If you have PPD as well, hopefully you'll understand. I don't care for masses of followers. I prefer less here. We can have our own little cynical circle where we understand each others' paranoid ideas. I especially don't want followers who go "OMG! I must have PPD because I'm totally paranoid! I can totally relate to paranoid parrot and anxiety cat. Everyone, I have PPD!!!" The paranoia in PPD is a different kind of paranoia. Don't stupidly give yourself an inaccurate label.
Enjoy, my fellow PPD porcupines... If you are out there.
(But I probably won't like most of you.)
